Before
Twilight is a film about love, the passage of
time, and about actors - their eccentricities
and dreams of getting one more great part. The
aged residents of the Senior Actors' Home, engaged
in triviality of everyday life, decide to stage
a production of "Faust." The idea comes
from a veteran actor (Jan Nowicki), a restless
soul who unexpectedly appears in the residents'
uneventful lives, with two young people helping
him (played by Sonia Bohosiewicz and Antoni Pawlicki).
Using their emotions and past experiences, the
actors take all the wisdom they've acquired and
put it into their last show. Warm and amusing,
the film concentrates on the joy of life, provoking
a reflection on the beauty of aging. It affirms
that old age can be a wonderful period, and director
Jacek Blawut has joked that he hopes young people
who see his movie will immediately want to grow
old.
